Editorial

If you want to write the articles for your magazines and simply need them polished up once they’re finished…we can do that! If you want to let us know the topics that interest you and have us take care of the interviews and writing…we can do that, too! If you think a mix of both options would work for you…no problem! Our experienced editorial staff works with each association individually to come up with a game plan that fits their needs and their schedule. This ensures that everything that is published is professional, grammatically correct…and interesting to read!

The editorial content of your magazine is your chance to speak to your members, whether they’re located locally or across North America! Our magazines often include messages and reports from our client’s presidents and executive directors, a cover story on the hottest topic of the day, as well as many feature stories which often cover the latest industry trends. Magazines may also include new industry regulations, tips and tricks to build better businesses, and profiles on members and member companies. Many of our clients also use their magazines to showcase their association, publishing membership benefits, details on upcoming conferences and events, and application forms.

We provide the services of a professional editor, who assists our clients in producing articles for the publication. In full collaboration with our clients, we determine the magazine’s direction, editorial content and themes. What’s more, our editors are your liaison with the graphic design team, with the printers and with the mailing house…this means you’re only a call away from the person with all the answers!

As well, our editors create a mutually-agreed upon schedule to ensure deadlines are met, work with the graphic artists to achieve the association’s vision for the magazine, meet with the printer on behalf of the association to ensure everything is printed on time, and they work with our distribution department to make sure copies are delivered where they need to go.

The publication, which is completely supported by advertising revenue, is based on a 50/50 advertising to editorial ratio. This means that the number of pages available for articles is determined by the total pages of advertising sold in each issue. Associations can usually expect a 24 to 64 page publication which allows for 12 to 32 pages of editorial.

What’s most important…our editors will walk you through every step along the way. They’ll go through proofs with you page by page and ensure your edits are made and until you’re happy and ready to “sign off”, they won’t take the magazine to press. You are always in control…right down to the font size!
